Child Sex Dolls: Why Aren't They Illegal?

The definition of pedophilia refers to people who have strong and repeated sexual impulses and fantasies about pre-adolescent children who have acted or been troubled by such sexual impulses (such as obstructed interpersonal relationships).
At present, it is not illegal to buy and sell
sex dolls in the United States. However, on March 27th, the Florida Senate plans to read the bill (SB160) for the third time. The bill states that for obscene, child-like sex dolls, the following acts are prohibited: “intentional sale, lending, gift, distribution, dissemination, display or conversion; initiative to propose such conduct; , custody or control; or publicize in any way."
The bill argues that the reason for the prohibition of the use of child sex dolls is that the use and possession of such dolls makes it easy to associate with the picture of participation and implementation of child sexual abuse. Potential criminals can use such dolls to learn how to rape children, and dolls are “essentially related to the abuse of minors, which lead to the exploitation, materialization, abuse and rape of minors.”
